Brian Butts is the manager of the Procurement Inclusion and Diversity department at American Honda Motor, Co., Inc. overseeing the company’s efforts to grow the diversity of its supply chain, and serving as a liaison with diversity affinity groups and other organizations to strengthen economic development opportunities.
Butts joined American Honda in 1992 in the company’s Management Trainee Program. Over the past 28 years, he has served in a variety of positions in the company, including district sales manager, assistant manager of Auto Shows & Exhibits, assistant manager of National Auto Advertising, manager of Honda Regional Marketing, manager of Honda Brand Development, manager of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles for both auto brands (Honda and Acura), and manager of Automobile Logistics and Quality Control.
Butts received a B.B.A. in Finance from Howard University in 1992, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science, Leadership & Management at the University of La Verne (pending May 2020 graduation).
He is an active participant with a number of organizations, including The Bridge Builders Foundation, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Howard University Alumni Association, and is on the board of directors for WBEC-West, The Bridge Builders Foundation, Asian Business Association and Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC), and participates on several community and scholarship related steering committees.
